Rule #1 to own an Audi S5 when you turn 30:

To continue to work diligently from home even when you are on MC.

Did my course registration this morning and gosh! what a blood-boiling process was that.

Sometimes I really dont understand the NBS office. When I registered, there was practically no vacancy for all the modules that I want! This is liks so wtf, what's the point of letting us, the double-major students, to register earlier and you dont release enough slots for us? Was really frustrated with the whole process cause what could easily be done in like 5 minutes actually took me one and a half hour to do so.

Dear NBS office,

If you're reading this, please be aware that I dont have that much time to spend on things like that. The whole course registration process is so totally inefficient and you call yourself a BUSINESS SCHOOL. Pffffttt. No wonder we've been losing out to SMU.

On a different note, I think I'm turning into a workaholic. Because for the whole morning when I did my course registration, I just couldnt stop thinking of the work awaiting me in the opis. As I'm clicking impatiently, I thought of the emails that I sent out on Friday evening and whether the salespersons reply, things that I need to complete once I reach the opis, calls that I need to make, meeting that I have to arrange etc. etc. And I cant believe that instead of enjoying my very precious half day leave, I actually rushed to the office once I've got all the modules that I want. T____________T Why am I like this?

Oh and I think my colleagues secretly hate my presence in the office. I stayed back in the office for a while today trying to clear some work (no thanks to my half day leave), and one of them actually came to my table and said: WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE! GO HOME!

Hmm four more days till the end, cant wait!

One more week to my dearest mixer and oven at home (=

I've found several cake recipes online and cant wait to try them out!

Bro's birthday is coming and I think this time round, I shall try Tiramisu again. Found a relatively easy recipe and hope it wont turn out as disastrous as the last one I tried. Heh.

Hello to fattening cheese and chocolate and sour cream and whip cream! XD

Because it's a Friday night and I dont feel like sleeping so early and yet I dont have anything to say so Imma post some pictures from the internal career fair held in the second week of my internship. ( Or maybe, I'm just too high from the alcohol consumed over dinner )

The preparation. See those stars hanging on the ceiling? Sigh we girls decided to hang them ourselves after waiting for 30 minutes because we realized that all the guys in the opis are short and cant reach too.

We gave out free popcorns! Which in the end went into our own stomachs mostly.

One side of the booth which has posters of each sub-team in my team.

The IBD Finance team who deal with the IBD bankers.

Haha MIS team that produces chim reports that I dont understand and I dont know how they came out with DUH Vinci Code.

FP&A team who doesnt know the bollywood movie representing their team till today. Only the pretty girl in the middle with big head knows that. Haha.

And finallyyyy....... Yours truly's team - Sales Finance.

The other side of the booth before the event started and the tables ended up messy.

Oh and we have this mini snooker table set that I so want to bring home.

Bankers that cant live without booze and always dreaming of vacation.

Errmmm pilot who lost his way and mistaken ORQ as Changi Airport.

I dont know why the big bosses were so happy. Probably because they havent seen stars for ages.

Meanwhile, another big boss was trying hard to sell the team to potential team member.

And finally some random pictures. See the last photo? It will always be the pain in my arse. I dont know whats wrong with the photographer but he decided that its fun to take the picture without the interns. Or maybe we interns are invisible to him. Kevin and I were both there but we got cut out! I was standing beside my boss can you spot me? T____T

Okay, I shall go and get some sleep. Goodnight!

This is probably one of the most classic emails that I have received:

So colleague P asked me to forward some query stats that I've done in the morning for him. Because I'm so used to typing formal email now, without second thought I just typed out this in the mail that I forward to him:

FYI.

Regards,
YuWen

And this is his reply:

Thanks! Dont need to be so polite lah! (=

I had a very hard time to stop myself from bursting out loud laughter when I saw that and hence I ended up with some very constipated face expression that worried the pregnant lady sitting next to me as she thought that I'm too stressed over the sudden increase of queries due to half year end period -_-

Sigh these people are gonna make me miss them banyak banyak after I end my internship next Friday.

Unfortunate Drama Episode 198257201:

So today is the Interns Community Project Day and all of us brought some kids to Sentosa Underwater World and watched PINK DOLPHINS! Yes! Sentosa has pink dolphins and I didnt know that all the while.

Quote from colleague H: "You dont know that!!! Are you Singaporean?"
Me: "No. Im not. Seriously."

Her expression was priceless after hearing that though. Sometimes its really funny how people just assume that i'm local and even automatically label me as ACS kid when they meet me. Tsk. I'm from Taylor's College a.k.a Kolej Penjahit which is much more prestigious okayyyyyyy.

Okay so I decided to wear this pair of ballet flats that I havent worn for months for the event. Everything was fine until....... after lunch when I brought some kids to the washroom. On the way to the toilet, I suddenly felt that my right foot was lighter. Guess what? The sole dropped off from the shoe T_______________T And so I have to limped of to the souvenir shop to buy a pair of fugly lime green flip flops. Sigh. Thank god the Boss wasnt there to be amused by me again.

And after the event ended, I went to Richard's house at Kembangan to finish up our presentation on coming Friday. Everything was smooth. I didnt break the mugs at his house, nor did I destroy his laptop. I just hopped onto the train heading to Pasir Ris instead of Joo Koon when it was time to be home.

SIGH SIGH SIGH.

I think something's wrong with the feng shui of my room or my office! Lame things like these just keep happening to me. Tsk. Anyone cares to recommend some feng shui master to me?

Us! The sad people who went back to office to work after a day at Sentosa T___T

What's worse?

Failing to save one hour worth of work on Excel

or

Hopping on a train that has no air cond after staying extra long in the office to recover your work?

Monday is just not a good day.

The weather is HOT.

The weather is HOT HOT.

The weather is HOT HOT HOT.

Yeah and I hope you guys get the point - the weather is so effing hot that I just wanna hide in my fridge.

Now, I'm glad that I spend at least 10 hours in the opis, though the air cond sometimes makes me feel like I'm working in North Pole.

p.s. and my firefox sucks. it doesnt allow me to add a post and i have to use safari instead. imma uninstall my firefox cause its getting crappy and go try out the new safari if you havent got to do so! its amazing! (=

Being an intern means:

You always get FREE lunch when there're things like team lunch or you dont have to pay for your coffee/bubble milk tea during tea time.

Why? Because, usually, interns earn like peanuts.

So today, to welcome a new permanent staff to my team, we have welcome lunch at this nice (and yummy) chinese restaurant at Telol Ayer street. And again, my team members insist that I dont have to pay because I AM AN INTERN and the newjoiner have to pay for my share instead XD Haha and after lunch when the newjoiner and I went to buy bubble tea, he insisted on paying for me again.

Despite the benefit of getting free lunch/tea/coffee/bubble milk tea/dessert, I actually feel quite bad everytime my team members insist on paying for me, especially when they say this: "Aiyah never mind lah! I know interns dont get paid much! You dont need to pay lah! " Yeah so after like 6 weeks of working at the BANK, there're still times like that: "Aiyah never mind I treat you, as a welcome treat!"

I hope they never find out how much I am paid. Not that I'm boosting about my pay, but I just need to lighten my guilts here by making some confession. Heh.

Honestly, I was expecting a very tense and cold environment before I started my internship and thought that I'd be working with a bunch of stern and demanding people. But thank god it didnt turn out the way at all!

My team members are actually a great bunch of caring people to work with. Despite the office being quiet at times cause everyone is swamped with never ending workload, people in the BANK are generally helpful and friendly and open. There are not many places that let you arrange informal meetings with directors/managing directors and talk about anything you want afterall. I love the fact that I dont have to do any sai kang like photocopying stuff/data entry/buy coffee as compared to my other friends who are doing internship at other places. Instead, I'm given the chance to do the daily works and gain greater exposure to the operations of the BANK.

I love my cute team members who are always asking whether they're giving me too much work to do everytime they ask for my help. Haha sometimes they treat me so well that I feel so protected. Typical conversation like this always happen when they assign me stuff to do: Hey are you free now? Could you help me to do blah blah blah blah blah... Oh wait, am I giving you too many things to do? Aiyah I think you do X can already lah, I can deal with A,B,C,D and E myself.

(= And I have to assure them that I'm more than willing to help for millions time before they handover the work to me. Oh and there're H and P who constantly chase me home! Haha normally at around 6.30, P will bchat (the Bank's version of msn) me and ask: not goin home yet? If I'm still in the office like 15 or 20 minutes later, he will tell me this: Things that you're doing not not very very urgent, just go home first, they could be done tomorrow.

Haha and the classic is here, if I am still around at 7 to 7.30, H will just directly bchat me this: GO HOME!!!! Haha yes she's so cute that she actully bold the words and add lotsa !!!!!!! to emphasize that she wants me to get out from the office. Oh not forgetting the Boss who will drop by my desk occasionally when he's not bugged down by the calls from London and NY and hints that I should go home unless I really like staying in the office, or chases me out to have lunch if I still havent gone for it by 12.30.

As much as I cant wait for the internship to end, I actually feel quite sad to leave this bunch of nice people. I realise that I havent written much about my work, will probably post more if I get the time to do soon.

This is probably the longest post that I've written since I started to blog again. Pardon for this sudden verbal diarrhea. If you're still reading, I must say that you're really my number one fan! (= Love you!

Till then see ya!

This must be the sweetest and cutest couple that I've ever seen:

Love them for their courage to love and not afraid of letting the whole world to know that they're in love.

(=
Hi all! Call me Queen A!

A for ACCIDENTS.

Yes and so exactly three weeks after my drama of slipping at the NIE slope, the drama repeated itself again on that rainy Thursday morning.

And this time, being the champion I always am, I fell down not once, but twice. Yeah merely three seconds after I stood up again, I slipped again. The scrape is more serious this time and both my legs are fuglyyyyyy now.

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhh )=

And without fail, I managed to amuse my boss again. I think if there's an entertainment element in my appraisal, I'd have max that. Because just the day before, I spilled kway chap on my shoes and skirt during lunch and that brightens up my boss's dull working life.

Oh well, on a brighter side, at least I'm always wearing black skirt when something happens! Yeah so that helps to cover up a wee bit and I'm happy enough wtf.

Sigh. I seriously dont know why am i so accident prone. Someone save me please.

Where's my superman? XD

I miss the SUN.
